Don’t forget… 8th May – Annual CEL Meeting

Wednesday 8th May – 19:30 at CEL

A chance for members to get together, we will present the annual report and accounts, elect new board members and then there will be time for socialising.

This year there are three spaces on the CEL board to fill. If you are interested in joining the team please let us know – all you need is enthusiasm for books, children and activities in English … ask if you’d like more details. info@celstuttgart.de

Friday Fun is a blast!

This Friday 26th April: blast on over at 3:30pm, because we will be reading a book about space and making fizzy planets!!

Don’t  forget we are closed on Saturday 27th April so change your books tomorrow!

Easter Holidays

Can you believe it’s already April?

CEL will be closed on Saturday 13th April, Friday 19th April, Saturday 20th April and Saturday 27th April for the school holidays. We will be open as usual on Friday 26th April

April’s spotlight is on sheep. Did you know that there are over 1 billion sheep in the world? CEL has lots of picture books about these furry animals, like “Baa Baa”, “Russell the Sheep” and “The Lamb who Came for Dinner”.

Let one of these warm, fleecy books keep you cozy on rainy days this April when you check one out at CEL.

FRIDAY FUNTIME – Friday 22nd February
Hi everyone! We’ll be working on treasure maps this week. We’ll plot our treasure, colour and tea stain our maps as well as burn the edges for the authentic pirate look – arghhh!
Book at 1530, activity directly after 🏴‍☠️

Shortbread workshop – Saturday 23rd March
A baking workshop for 3-7 year olds. Places are limited so sign up by e-mailing workshops@celstuttgart.de

Due to school holidays we will be closed on Saturday 2nd and 9th of March. We will be open on Friday 8th March as usual.

February’s Spotlight is on David Walliams

… a British author, comedian, actor and talent show judge. His books, like “Mr. Stink”, have sold more than 25 million copied and have been translate into more than 50 languages! Walliams has won many awards for his writing and for his many other endeavors as well. He even swam the English Channel AND the Strait of Gibraltar (not consecutively) to raise money for Sport Relief! In addition to “Mr. Stink”, CEL has lots of Walliams’ books available to take home, like “Awful Auntie” and “Billionaire Boy”. They’re found in junior fiction, come check one out soon.

Friday Funtime – from 15:30

Over the next few weeks, my Friday activities will focus around Pirate Treasures. This week we’ll all work together to create a treasure chest filled with swag! Arrghh!
Tabea and Laura, our lovely volunteers from the International School will be joining us too to makes SMORES! Because PIRATES LOVE SMORES!

*All those dressed up with receive a ticket. At the end of the day a ticket will be drawn from the hat and the owner of the ticket will receive a six-month free extension to their library membership. Non-members will have to join CEL and pay their first year’s fee before being able to claim the prize.
