Children’s Book Drive and other upcoming events at CEL!
Hello Members and Volunteers,
Our 6th Annual Children’s Book Drive begins this week and will go until Saturday November 30th. 📚🎄📚🎄
We will be collecting new and gently used German language children’s books for ages 0-18 years old. We will donate these books to local children’s homes and organizations in our area that support families in need. There will be a collection box at the front desk at the library.
In the past 5 years, we have been able to donate over 3,200 books to 10 different organizations!
Please help us make this year a success by donating books and spreading the word to family and friends. This is a great opportunity to spread some holiday cheer to children in our community. ❤️

Fall Holiday Hours and CEL T-Shirt Order!
Dear Members,
The library will be closed the week of October 28- November 2nd due to German school holidays and a national holiday. We will resume regular opening hours for the week of November 4th.
Have you ordered your CEL t-Shirts yet? They are a great idea for your holiday presents!

Our annual Halloween Party was a (graveyard) smash! Games, stories, candy, and the spookiest cellar we’ve ever ventured through! The costumes were kooky and altogether ooky and, most importantly, the volunteers were OUT OF THIS WORLD! We couldn’t do it without them!We hope to see everyone again soon at the Children’s English Library!

Calling all bakers!

2024 CEL Halloween Party – 26th October 12:00-17:00
Dear CEL Members,
We would like to invite you to our CEL Halloween Party on Saturday October 26th from 12-5pm. There will be story-times, crafts, games, activities, and a bake sale! This is a members only event. It’s a great day to join the CEL and we will be happy to sign up new members on the day of the party!
Volunteers are needed to help the party run smoothly and baked goods are needed for our bake sale! Please, sign up in the attached Nuudel.

CEL T-Shirst are SOLD OUT!
All the spare CEL T-shirts have already gone…If you didn’t order your CEL T-shirts before the summer holidays don’t worry. We will place a second order. Forms can be found on the website or at the desk. Deadline 4th October 2024.
New school year, t-shirts, and Lego club!
Hello CEL Members and Volunteers,
The new school year starts this week and our normal opening hours resume starting Friday September 13th.
Our CEL t-shirts are here! You can pick up your order at the library. We ordered 5 extra children’s t-shirts in white in various sizes. They can be purchased at the front desk for 15€ each.
Our Summer Reading Challenge has come to an end. All participants can show their reading logs to the volunteer on duty and pick out a prize!
We are looking for a volunteer to take over the bulletin board in the library. This is a fun opportunity for someone that is creative and crafty! Send an email to Liz.weiser@celstuttgart.de if interested.

Summer school holidays begin this week. We will only be open on Friday afternoons from 2:30-5:30 from now until September 8th. Normal opening hours will resume on Friday September 13th.

A big thanks to all the bakers and helpers …
A big thanks to all the bakers and helpers who made our Vaihinger Stadtfest stand possible last weekend. We were able to raise a much needed 256€ for our library from the cookie and book sales 👏 Furthermore, we were able to advertise our library and hopefully win some new members 🤞 Thanks also to all the members who stopped by to say hi 👋 😃 We hope to be back again next year.
