Fall Holidays and a successful Halloween Party

Hello CEL members and volunteers,

Please keep in mind, this week is the Fall school holidays and the library is only open on Friday afternoon November 3rd from 2:30-5:30. 🍁🎃🍂

Regular hours resume the week of November 6th.

It was a spooky and fun day at the CEL on Saturday! We had a record breaking turn-out for our Halloween Party! Thank you to everyone that volunteered and baked and invited their friends. It was a smashing success! We hope you all had a lot of fun! 🎃👻🎃👻

CEL Halloween Party October 28th

Dear CEL Members,

We would like to invite you to join us at the CEL Halloween Party on Saturday, October 28th from 1-5 pm.  There will be fun and spooky activities and storytime as well as a bake sale.  All kids that wear a costume get a treat!  We‘ve rented out an additional room from our neighbor so there will be plenty of space for the party!

Coming Soon – CEL Lego Club

Dear CEL families,
With the new school year comes a new and exciting opportunity for our school age kids at the library.
Join us one Saturday per month for our new CEL Lego Club.
All kids aged 6-12 are invited to come discover and build.
Children must be members of the library. No sign up necessary.
From 1:30pm to about 2:30pm (the library will open at 2pm, so you can check out books before leaving)

Back to School … CEL News

News

Hello CEL Members and Volunteers,

School is back in session and our normal opening hours resume on Friday.
Fridays 10:00-12:00
Fridays 14:30-17:30
Saturdays 14:00-17:00

All children that participated in our Summer Reading Challenge can show their reading log to the volunteer at the desk and pick out a prize! Prizes will be available until Saturday October 14th.

Volunteers Needed!
Our current Volunteer Coordinator needs step down due to work obligations and we are looking for someone to fill this position. It’s a great way to volunteer and get involved at CEL. Anyone interested please send an email to liz.weiser@celstuttgart.de.

We are looking for someone to take over the remaining time for the board position from Alex Fluegel. The position runs until our Annual General Meeting in April when we will hold elections for new members. This is a great way to get a sense of being on the board without making a big commitment. You must be a member of CEL. Anyone interested please send an email to liz.weiser@celstuttgart.de.

Our new books have arrived and are waiting for you to check them out.

Don’t forget to keep filling out your Summer Reading Challenge log sheets and get read to bring them back to the library to collect your prize from 15th September.

Normal opening hours resume on Friday 15th September and Saturday 16th September.

Hello CEL Members,

School holidays start next week on Thursday. We will be open only Friday afternoons (volunteer dependent) from July 27 through September 10th. Normal hours resume the week of September 11th. Please check the website to make sure the library is open.

Don’t forget about our Summer Reading Challenge going on now until the start of the school year! Reading logs are available at the front desk.

This Friday morning, the library will be open from 10:00 until 11:40.  Our volunteer needs to close a few minutes early due to an appointment.

Friday afternoon and Saturday are regular opening hours.
Don’t forge the Yoga in the Park this Saturday – all ages welcome to take part.

CEL Summer Events – come and join us

Hello Members,

We would like to invite you to a summer get-together at the Katzenbacher Hof on Saturday June 24th from 11-3. There is a cash only food and beverage kiosk, picnic tables, and a large playground. It’s a great opportunity to socialize and meet other members. We hope you can join us!

Our Summer Reading Challenge Starts on July 1st. The reading logs will be available to pick up at the library. All ages are welcome to participate- read yourself or have someone read to you! See more details on the flyer below.

Don’t forget this Saturday is Yoga in the Park at 2pm in the Vaihinger Stadtpark. All ages welcome. Please bring a towel or blanket to place under your yoga mat. No sign up required. After the yoga class, stop by the library and exchange your books!
