Holiday ‘Chat, Chill and Cake”

If anyone is looking for something to do during the Pfingsten holiday I will be hosting a ‘Chat, Chill and Cake” on Tuesday the 22nd May from 3pm. There will not be any planned activities for the children and it is aimed at school aged children and their parents, who are only able to visit the library during school holidays, although everyone is welcome. Drinks will be supplied by the library so make sure you bring small change, and I will be providing the cake. You don’t need to sign up in advance, but having a rough idea of numbers would help me plan the baking.

CEL will be open for the return and borrowing of books during this event from 15:00-17:00

School holiday, finger print, storytelling workshop

Next Friday 16th June CEL will be closed in the morning, but from 15:00 in the afternoon we have a school holiday finger print, storytelling workshop for you to take part in. In our sample we have an owl waiting for his dinner. Why don’t you bring your fingers and see what story you can tell. Maybe your story will end happily for everyone 🙂

A great time was had by all at our Adult and Teen Felting workshop

Our evening was full of fun and color! The library fundraiser with teens and adults was creative and busy, but most importantly brought in some needed funds and was full giggles!!! The members made what their hearts desired: a polka-dotted lizard, a yellow banana slug, food for the shopping stand, a sprinkled doughnut, bracelets and hair bands, a mysterious unicorn and even a sweet mouse!…..

Many thanks to Julie for a great evening – if you want to know more about Julie’s felting check out her website. http://www.license-to-thrill.biz/

Design and order your Christmas Cards by 1st October

Once again CEL is taking part in Art Projects for Schools Design a Christmas Card Scheme.

christmascardsChildren design a card on A4 paper, parents choose how many packs of 12 cards they wish to order, complete an order form and pay for the cards. The designs are then sent to the UK and the finished packs of cards arrive early in November, ready for writing to your friends and family.

In early September there will be several workshops at CEL (see calendar), but if you would prefer to design your card at home you can use the order form here: ChristmasCardOrder2016.
Just remember that designs must be A4 size, non-shiny and the completed design, form and payment must be received at CEL by 1st October.
