Teachers are welcome to become members of CEL on an individual basis. Books and other items borrowed by teachers remain their personal responsibility.
In addition to membership CEL also offers teachers the opportunity to bring a class to visit the library.
Class visits must be arranged in advance and will take place when the library is closed. A visit involves a programme of readings and activities delivered by native English speakers.
The programme is arranged in advance, on an individual basis with the teacher so that an appropriate subject and level of English can be chosen. Previous visits have covered library skills and workshops based on books e.g. Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson.
Class visits usually last around one hour and are offered subject to the availability of volunteers. A donation towards the work of the library is requested (30 Euro for non-members of CEL and 25 Euro for members.)
Please ensure that you give us a minimum of 48 hours notice if your class can not attend. If volunteers turn out unnecessarily, they will be less willing to sign up to help in future and we will be unable to offer class visits. If a visit is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice the CEL Board reserves the right to invoice the school/kindergarten for the full cost of the visit.
