CEL reopens the Friday …

Happy New Year to all of our CEL members.

The library reopens this week after the holiday break with our regular opening hours. Please check our website before coming to ensure the library has a volunteer and is open.

All libraries in Baden-Württemberg remain at the 2G+ level with the requirement of a FFP2 mask for ages 18 and older.

The exceptions to the testing requirement are as follows: a booster, fully vaccinated/recovered in the last 3 months, children under the age of 5 or up to 7 if they haven’t started first grade yet, school age children up to age 17 if they are tested in school and show a school ID.

Best wishes for the New Year and we hope to see you all at CEL soon!

Our 3rd annual CEL Children’s Book Drive was a huge success!

Our 3rd annual CEL Children’s Book Drive was a huge success! 📚❤️📚
We collected around 800 books and most of those have been delivered to the various Children’s homes and Child Help Organizations in our region. We have two small deliveries left for next week and then it will be finished for the year.
Today, we delivered books to the two largest Children’s homes in the area and both of the directors mentioned that since the pandemic began the number of donations has decreased significantly and they were beyond grateful to receive so many good, quality books for their children.
A huge thank you to all of you for donating books, telling your friends and neighbors, and for dragging them up those stairs.
It makes a difference and it really spreads joy and sends love to a lot of children that aren’t having an easy start in life.
A heartfelt thank you from me and my family for honoring the memory of Henry with this book drive. ❤️

The rules have changed once again!

The rules have changed once again.
There are new exemptions to testing for 2G+: in addition to having had a booster, you are also exempt if your recovery has been in the last 6 months, or if you have been fully vaccinated for 6 months or less.
This will hopefully make it easier to volunteer and for people to visit the library.

New Corona Regulations – Libraries are now 2G+

In accordance with the newly announced Corona Regulations libraries are now 2G+

This means that adults over 18 will need proof of vaccination or recovery AND a negative corona test to choose books at CEL.
Those who have had their booster vaccination are exempt.

A bag of books for return may be passed through the door without a test.

Please help our volunteers by having your proof of status ready for inspection on arrival at CEL.

We hope that following these rules mean CEL will be able to stay open.

Stay safe and well,

The CEL Team

Alarmstufe – 2G rules at Children’s English Library…

From Wednesday 17th November, B-W will move up to the Alarmstufe which means we will require either proof of vaccination or recovery to use the library (2G).
There is an exception for pregnant and nursing women, they will need a rapid test if they are not vaccinated.
Children are exempt. BUT if children at elementary school and above are not in a school that is testing the students, they will need to be tested before coming to the library.
Please provide your proof of status, including that of your children, when entering the library. The volunteer on the desk will  log members names for contact tracing and you can also check in using Luca or the Coronoa Warn App – the same QR code can be used for both.
Please remember everyone over the age of 6 must wear a face mask.
Thank you for helping keep our volunteers and members safe.
