… a British author, comedian, actor and talent show judge. His books, like “Mr. Stink”, have sold more than 25 million copied and have been translate into more than 50 languages! Walliams has won many awards for his writing and for his many other endeavors as well. He even swam the English Channel AND the Strait of Gibraltar (not consecutively) to raise money for Sport Relief! In the spirit of Thanksgiving, our November Spotlight is on books about giving thanks. We have many Thanksgiving books, but we also have books about being thankful, like “Bear Says Thanks” and “Thanks a Kazillion”. Come check one out at the library!

Judy Blume is a beloved American author known for her children’s and YA books like “Are you There, God? It’s Me Margaret”, “Blubber” and Double Fudge” (and my personal favorite- “Freckle Juice”). In the USA, Blume is one of the most frequently challenged authors of the 21st century because of her writing on subjects considered to be taboo, but despite those efforts, Blume’s books have sold over 82 million copies and have been translated into over 32 languages. Judy Blume has also written books for adults and has won many writing awards. Come check one of her books out at the library.

Marcus Pfister was born (and still lives) in Bern, Switzerland. Published in 1992, his Rainbow Fish series of books have been translated into more than 80 languages (including English, lucky us!) and have sold over 15 million copies worldwide! Pfister uses watercolors to create his unique and beautiful book illustrations. Come check out one of his books at the library!

Beverly Cleary is an American author best known for her books starring Henry Huggins and Beezus and Ramona Quimby. Before she was a writer, Cleary was a children’s librarian who made it her mission to help kids find books they loved to read. Her books have been published in over 25 different languages! Publisher Harper Collins celebrates April 12, Cleary’s birthday, as Drop Everything and Read day(DeaR). CEL owns many of Beverly Cleary’s books, come check one out today! What’s your favorite dinosaur? We have lots of dinosaur books here, both fiction and non-fiction. If you want to learn about dinosaurs, try “The Best-Ever Book of Dinosaurs” held in the 560s in non-fiction. If you want a story featuring dinosaurs, try “I’m Tryannosaurus”, in the picture books.
