School holidays and Summer Picnic

Hello Members, Volunteers, and Supporters,

The Passover/Whitsun (Pfingsten) school holidays are from Friday May 22nd to Sunday June 7th.
During this time the library will only be open on Friday afternoons from 2:30-5:30 (May 22nd, 29th, and June 5th).
Normal opening hours will resume on Friday June 12th.

We would like to invite you all to our CEL’s Summer Picnic at the Katzenbacherhof  on June 20th from 11-2!  There is a snack bar for food and drinks and a playground for the kids.  It’s a great opportunity to meet and socialize with other library members!  We are looking forward to seeing you there!

News from CEL – AGM, Lego Club, Readathon

Hello Members,

Our Annual General Meeting is Wednesday April 22nd at 7 pm at the library. All members are invited to attend. The agenda is attached below. If you will be joining us, please let us know at info@celstuttgart.de.

Join us Saturday 18th April for our CEL Lego Club.
All kids aged 6-12 are invited to come discover and build.
Children must be members of the library.
No sign up necessary.
From 1:30pm to about 2:30pm (the library will open at 2pm, so you can check out books before leaving).

Attention all READ-A-THON participants! YOU DID IT! Great job reading all those pages over the Easter break! Come to the library during opening hours and hand in your pledge packets and funds that you raised so that you can pick a special prize from our prize bin. WAY TO GO!

Open Day at the CEL on March 21st

Hi Members, Volunteers, and Supporters,

The Children’s English Library is having an Open Day on Saturday March 21st from 1-5 pm. We have lots of fun activities planned! This is a great opportunity for non-members to experience the CEL so don’t forget to tell your friends!
We will also have the Read-a-thon packets ready for pick-up!  Our Read-a-thon will run over the Easter school holidays from March 27th- April 18th.

Vaihinger Stadfest – Sunday, July 6th

Dear members,
Now is your chance to help out!
Volunteers are needed to help with our stand at the Vaihinger Stadfest on Sunday, July 6th. We will be offering an easy craft, selling books and cookies, and telling the visitors how great our library is. Volunteers are needed to help set up, man the tent, and take it down.

Don’t have time that day? No problem! We also need your cookie baking skills. We’d like to sell prepackaged cookies at our stand at the Vaihinger Stadtfest. Please put 2-3 cookies in a bag and drop off at the library by Saturday, July 5th.
