Hello CEL members,

Here is an update on what’s going on at the Library:

You can pick up one or both of the reading logs at the library or print one out at home Summer_Reading_Challenge Logs and then get reading! All participants can pick up a certificate and a small prize at the library from September 13 until October 12th.
  • Could you lead a Saturday Workshop? Do have an idea? If not, then maybe one of these will strike your fancy: lego challenge, storytelling, self portrait activity, experiments, baking, kid’s yoga/movement. Please let us know if you are interested and what date works for you at
  • Do your kids have a book recommendation? We would love to hear them! You can pick up a book recommendation slip at the library or simply post it on the members’ Facebook group. Just tell us the name of the book and why they liked it along with your child´s name and age.
  • Don’t forget there is Rhyme Time on Friday mornings and Friday Fun on Friday afternoons! The library is a great place to visit to stay cool on these hot summer days!

Don’t forget… 8th May – Annual CEL Meeting

Wednesday 8th May – 19:30 at CEL

A chance for members to get together, we will present the annual report and accounts, elect new board members and then there will be time for socialising.

This year there are three spaces on the CEL board to fill. If you are interested in joining the team please let us know – all you need is enthusiasm for books, children and activities in English … ask if you’d like more details.

Friday Fun is a blast!

This Friday 26th April: blast on over at 3:30pm, because we will be reading a book about space and making fizzy planets!!

Don’t  forget we are closed on Saturday 27th April so change your books tomorrow!

Easter Holidays

Can you believe it’s already April?

CEL will be closed on Saturday 13th April, Friday 19th April, Saturday 20th April and Saturday 27th April for the school holidays. We will be open as usual on Friday 26th April

April’s spotlight is on sheep. Did you know that there are over 1 billion sheep in the world? CEL has lots of picture books about these furry animals, like “Baa Baa”, “Russell the Sheep” and “The Lamb who Came for Dinner”.

Let one of these warm, fleecy books keep you cozy on rainy days this April when you check one out at CEL.
